Régence carved beechwood fauteuil. The chair is carved on the outside rear rail and, uniquely for an open armchair, has no lower back traverse. The chair is identical to chairs which were in the Salon d'Assemblée and the library as well as the Cabinet of the Prince-Cardinal Rohan of Strasbourg. Several of the chairs are still in the Palais Rohan and others are in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs of Strasbourg.
