Very fine courtroom scene, Scène du Tribunal, by Jean-Louis Forain. Three defendants, two in blue dresses, another in scarlet are being addressed by a lawyer, probably after a positive verdict, as two guards look on. Two lawyers are in the foreground, one examining a picture. A group of onlookers is in the right background. Signed forain, upper right. Oil on canvas.
