Oak boiserie panel 002

Fine Louis XVI carved oak panel depicting a military trophy. The well carved panel, probably from a boiserie, depicts a club-supported helmet over a cuirass in front of flags, a lictor, and a quiver. There are two shields below the armor, one with an Apollo mask, the other, with a Medusa mask. The panel is framed on three sides by ribbons and scrolling acanthus and olive motifs swags.
