Very finely cast and chased patinated bronze statuette of a boy sitting on a shell and being bitten by a lobster. The model is by Lambert Sigisbert Adam (1700-59). A plaster was exhibited in the Salon of 1740, and was described as to be cast in bronze. Other versions are in the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Detroit Museum and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.
