mounted pieces 003

Fine and rare pair of English “blujohn” pot pourri vases in Louis XVI ormolu mounts. The translucent English spar, of conical section, is formed of yellow crystals with purple inclusions. The flat tops have acanthus knops and rest on reticulated rims with curved handles. The vases rest on raised ormolu bases. The particularly well chased mounts have their original gilding. (One or both tops repaired.)
