Pair bronze patiné, ormoulu and marble tripod candelabra. Each Athenienne form candelabra has a red marble bowl fitted with three spirally fluted candle branches centering fruiting foliage. They are raised on ormolu supports surmounted by rams' heads centered by a spirally fluted shaft encircled by a snake, ending in hoof feet above a concave-sided triangular base with very unusual chased and burnished reserves. [One arm repaired. Vases repaired.]

Ex Collection: Baron Emmanuel Leonino: Galerie Jean Charpentier; Paris, March 18-19, 1937, lot 174 Christie's, Monaco, June 19, 1988, lot 35 Emmanuel David Berend (1864-1936) was granted the title Baron Leonino by the King of Italy. He was married to Juliette de Rothschild, daughter of Gustave de Rothschild. Much of the Leonino collection, which included property inherited from Gustave de Rothschild, was dispersed at auction in Paris in 1937. A nearly identical four-light pair exists at Pavlosk, (inv.
