chenets 008

Pair of gout grec ormoulu chenets depicting a recumbent lion on a balustrade with an urn on a column. The design is attributed to Jean-Louis Prieur. Signed Feuchere under each lion (Pierre-François Feuchère  b. 1737; master 1763; d. 1823). Feuchere was one of France's greatest bronziers in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
