Pair of Kangxi tilework figures of “Foo dogs” on hollow cylindrical bases. The creatures, predominantly glazed in green, sit on lily pads above lotus flowers and other marsh plants carved in relief on the bases. They were probably used as finials, possibly on round newel posts. [Some glaze wear.] Ex collection: Stotesbury (Philadelphia)
