Meissonier set of six candlesticks
 

Rare set of three pairs of Louis XV ormolu candlesticks designed by Meissonier. Each stick is raised on elaborate rococo bases decorated with scrolls, cartouches and stylized shells. The shaft, composed of swirling scrolls is embraced by two putti below the candleholder. [Differences in chasing and gilding. One pair with small drilled holes near the top. One pair with the undersides of the bases gilded. Bobêches missing.]
