Revolutionary wood mould

Unusual large Revolutionary carved wood gingerbread mould. The large double-sided walnut plank is carved with amusing hollowed-out figures portraying a merveilleuse on one side and an incroyable on the other. The female figure is stylishly dressed with a reversed Phrygian cap and décolleté dress. She is accompanied by two children and is carrying the head of a nobleman in a basket on her back. The dandyish male, in culottes, wears a bicorne cap with a revolutionary cockade, sports the de rigueur cane (possibly meant to represent a twisted glass cane) and carries a well-dressed woman piggyback.
