Very fine Louis XVI bleu nouveau Sèvres porcelain lyre clock with fine ormolu mounts and pendulum mounted with paste brilliants. The movement is by Kinable; the enamel dial by Dubuisson. [The rear pendulum mechanism is replaced.]
Originating in 1785, about 30 of the model were produced at Sèvres before the Revolution. The clock-maker Dieudonné Kinable worked from the late 18th century until after 1816, purchasing nineteen lyres between 1795 and 1806.
