Exceptionally rare pair Louis XVI ormolu and silver appliques

Very fine and exceptionally rare Louis XVI two color ormoulu and silver appliques.  Each sconce is surmounted by an eagle with spread wings that is perched on a plain burnished ormoulu oval and holding a ribbon in his beak connected to a composition of silver laurel leaves, ribbons and lily-of-the-valley stems. Two “C”-form acanthus shrouded arms terminate in pineapple supports for the candleholders. A ribbon, with tassels, hangs below and binds a musical trophy with a silver drumhead and songbook. The original hooked brackets on the rear of the sconces suggest they were inserted into a slot for hanging, possibly on a mirror. [One candleholder is replaced.]
